SHADOW / FIELD GUIDE
Clear answers, plainly stated.
Understand the system before you enter it.
Shadow is deliberately different from a conventional trading robot. These answers explain what it controls, what remains yours, and where its boundaries are.

Understanding Shadow
01.01What is Shadow?
Shadow is an operator-controlled command centre for HFM gold traders. It brings your supported MT5 accounts, basket state, Yggdrasil plan, account synchronization, risk readouts, commands, Telegram alerts and trade records into one browser-based workspace. You still decide the strategy; Shadow helps carry that decision through the operation.
01.02Is Shadow an EA, trading robot or signal service?
No. Shadow is not a black-box robot and it does not choose trades for you. ShadowNexus is the MT5-side component that connects each managed terminal to Shadow, but the product itself is a coordination, monitoring and record-keeping system. It does not provide investment advice, signals or guaranteed outcomes.
01.03What is Yggdrasil?
Yggdrasil is Shadow’s structured layering framework for XAUUSD and XAUUSDC. It turns the operator’s chosen zones, magic numbers, layer budgets and risk boundaries into a visible plan. Yggdrasil does not predict the market or decide direction; it gives a deliberate trade structure a consistent way to be prepared and followed.
01.04What is ShadowNexus?
ShadowNexus is the software inside each managed MT5 terminal that publishes account and basket state, receives eligible operator commands and reports acknowledgements back to Shadow. It is the connection layer—not a separate strategy or signal engine.
01.05Who is Shadow designed for?
Shadow is built for HFM gold traders who manage one or more accounts and want clearer discipline after entry: fewer fragmented decisions, less terminal-hopping, better awareness of the complete basket and a reliable record of what actually happened.
02 / FAQ
Accounts & compatibility
02.01Can I use my own broker?
Shadow currently supports HFM accounts only. Other brokers are not supported at this time. Shadow X participates in HFM’s partner programme and may receive compensation from HFM referrals, but it is independently operated and is not endorsed by HFM.
02.02Can I use a cent account?
Yes, supported HFM cent accounts can be used when their account type and gold symbol pass provisioning verification. Shadow preserves the account’s own denomination and does not treat a cent balance as a standard-dollar balance.
02.03Which instruments are supported?
Shadow is currently built exclusively for HFM XAUUSD and XAUUSDC. Other symbols, asset classes and brokers are not currently supported.
02.04Does Shadow support MT4?
No. Shadow currently requires MT5. MT4 accounts cannot be connected.
02.05Can Master and slave accounts use different gold symbol names?
Yes. Shadow can normalize the supported HFM aliases XAUUSD and XAUUSDC so the same basket can remain coordinated across eligible Master and slave accounts.
02.06How many accounts can I connect?
That depends on your package. Basic supports one Master; Expert supports one Master and one slave; Premium supports one Master and three slaves; Elite supports two Masters with two slaves each; and Ultimate supports four Masters with four slaves each. Every Master or slave reserves one hosted MT5 terminal.
03 / FAQ
Setup & everyday use
03.01Do I need to keep a computer running all the time?
No. Once a supported account is provisioned, its MT5 terminal and ShadowNexus connection run on Shadow’s managed hosted infrastructure. Your own computer can be off and your browser can be closed.
03.02Do I need to rent or manage a VPS?
No. Managed hosted MT5 infrastructure is included with Shadow access. You do not need to rent, configure or maintain a separate customer-managed VPS for the Shadow connection.
03.03Can I use Shadow on my phone, tablet, Mac and Windows PC?
Yes. Shadow is browser-based, so you can sign in from a modern browser on those devices and see the same account configuration and system state. Nothing needs to be installed again on every screen.
03.04How is an account connected?
You add the supported HFM account and choose its role and channel. Shadow then verifies the mapping, provisions the managed MT5 terminal with ShadowNexus, confirms the symbol and heartbeat, and shows the account online after verification succeeds.
03.05How does the free 7-day trial work?
The free trial is available only when you select Basic. It gives you one Master and no Slaves for 7 days. A payment method is required, but you will not be charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, Basic starts automatically and renews every 30 days.
03.06When can I use a higher tier’s full capacity?
Expert, Premium, Elite and Ultimate do not include a free trial. Stripe charges the selected price at Checkout, and that tier’s full Master and Slave capacity becomes available after payment is confirmed.
03.07What does Telegram do?
Telegram provides operational awareness away from the desk. Shadow can report meaningful basket, command, risk and terminal-state changes. Telegram is not a broker-side stop loss and message delivery should not be treated as a guaranteed trading safeguard.
04 / FAQ
Control, risk & results
04.01Does Shadow place trades by itself?
Shadow acts only within the configuration and commands defined by the operator. It does not independently form a market view or invent a trade. Exact behavior depends on the active Master, slave, Yggdrasil and risk settings you have chosen.
04.02Does Shadow guarantee execution, safety or profit?
No. Trading leveraged products carries substantial risk. Broker execution, connectivity, slippage, spreads, price gaps and market conditions can affect results. Shadow improves coordination and visibility; it cannot remove market risk or guarantee any outcome. Read the full Risk Disclosure.
04.03What happens if a terminal goes offline or falls out of sync?
Shadow monitors terminal freshness, account state and synchronization signals. A stale or mismatched state can be surfaced in the workspace and through enabled alerts so the operator can investigate. Recovery behavior depends on the terminal and the command involved; monitoring is not the same as guaranteed execution.
04.04Can I still trade manually?
Yes. Shadow is designed to preserve operator control. However, manual changes can alter basket exposure or create differences between the planned state and the broker accounts, so those interventions should be deliberate and reviewed in Shadow.
04.05Is my trading performance guaranteed to improve?
No. Shadow is a discipline and operations system, not a promise of profitability. Your strategy, settings, account size, leverage, risk decisions, broker conditions and behavior remain decisive.
05 / FAQ
Trial, billing & privacy
05.01How do I cancel the trial or a paid subscription?
Cancel Basic before its trial ends to prevent the first charge. Higher tiers are charged at Checkout; cancelling a paid plan prevents the next 30-day renewal, and access continues through the current paid period when applicable. Open Billing & Trial. Read the Billing & Cancellation Policy.
05.02Can I use the free trial more than once?
No. One free 7-day Basic trial is available per eligible customer. Trial capacity is one Master and no Slaves, and a payment method is required even though the trial itself costs USD 0 for 7 days.
05.03What happens if checkout is cancelled or a payment fails?
Cancelling checkout does not start the trial or paid subscription. If Stripe cannot confirm payment, paid access is not activated or renewed until payment succeeds. Review Billing & Trial for the current status, or contact support.
05.04When does the Shadow X HFM-verified rate begin?
Standard pricing applies until at least one Shadow-mapped HFM trading account is approved in a completed partner report. Shadow X then applies its conditional 30% subscription discount. If the account later disappears, one completed report miss starts a review and a second consecutive completed report miss ends eligibility. Failed or partial reports do not count. Shadow X shows the Standard price and affected renewal date, leaves the current paid period unchanged, and restores the discount automatically if eligibility returns before a future renewal. This is a Shadow X discount, not an HFM promotion, trading-account rebate or endorsement.
05.05How are my HFM account details used?
Shadow requests the account details needed to verify, provision and operate the managed MT5 terminal you ask it to connect. These details are operational credentials. Review the Privacy Notice before submitting account details, or contact support about correction or deletion requests.
05.06What is the refund policy?
Shadow X does not promise automatic refunds. Requests are reviewed under the terms shown at checkout and any rights that apply by law. This does not limit mandatory consumer rights. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact support promptly with the account email and charge date.
05.07How do I contact support?
Use the support link directly below and send your message from the email associated with your Shadow account. Do not include passwords, payment card details or other secrets in an email. Email Shadow X support
05.08Is Shadow available internationally?
Yes. Shadow is offered internationally where lawful and where HFM, Stripe and the required third-party services are available. It is not offered in every country or to sanctioned, restricted or otherwise ineligible persons. You remain responsible for confirming that your HFM account, trading activity and use of Shadow are permitted where you live.
05.09What do AP, RIP, 3P, Magic Numbers and GuardRails mean?
AP is average price across the relevant basket. RIP is Shadow’s displayed risk-invalidation distance, not a guaranteed broker stop. 3P is an operator command available in the product interface. Magic Numbers identify and separate eligible MT5 trade groups. GuardRails are configured risk boundaries and warnings; they cannot remove execution or market risk.
